SaReGaMaPa today is a household name in Indian families not only in our country but also across the globe. The huge popularity of the show may well be imagined from the fact that recently this famous talent show celebrated its 1000th episode in an extravaganza of music that included almost every singing sensation of our times plus a number of eminent veterans. The show also marked the culmination of 'Hero Honda SaReGaMaPa Mega Challenge' in a grand finale where Maharashtra emerged winners beating West Bengal in a closely contested musical battle.
Zee TV is the flagship channel of the Zee Networks, with a reach across more than 167 countries and access to more than 500 million viewers globally. Since its inception in October 1992, the channel has continuously increased its viewer base with a number of programmes that have monopolised the drawing room during prime time and also during re-runs. In many ways, Zee TV along with the Sony and Star channels was instrumental in revolutionizing the world of satellite and cable TV way back in the nineties.
SaReGaMaPa (started as SaReGaMa) happens to be one of the most popular shows on the Zee network and to commemorate its 1000th episode the 'Hero Honda SaReGaMaPa Mega Challenge' was launched in October 30th, 2009. It was a seven weeks-long battle in which participants from eight different states participated in eight teams of three each. They were all known names, having participated in earlier seasons of the show or in SaReGaMaPa Little Champs.
The grand finale on thirteenth December was a historic moment in the journey of Zee network and hence, the celebrations matched the occasion in splendour and celebrity attractions. All the past participants, winners and stars of the day who had been first recognized on this platform were present in the gathering. So far, several musical geniuses from the world of music have been involved in the evolution of the programme including Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Pandit Jasraj, Bappi Lahiri, Abhijit Bhattacharya, Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, Suresh Wadkar, etc. Several other talents who had first made a mark on the SaReGaMaPa platform were also present on this day to relive the journey and cheer the participants in the mega challenge.
Commenting on the show, Mr. Nitin Vaidya, COO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., and Business Head Zee TV said, "Completion of 1000 episodes with a brand in a cut-throat competitive scene as today's, is a great achievement in itself. We owe this success to all those who have made SaReGaMaPa a winner with their exceptional talent and dedication. Hence we decided to celebrate the 1000th episode with our talented participants. This series would offer our viewers, the best of all musical experiences that they would have witnessed till date...”
Here's wishing SaReGaMaPa all the best for the future.
